2024 Spring Show Information
Updated: Nov 27

Show Date: Saturday May 4th @ 10:30 am & 3:30 pm
Due to the low attendance at the meeting, please read carefully the information provided below.
This is a completely different type of show than we have ever done.
This will be a theatrical production. There will be a script read, characters on the ice acting out what is being said, characters doing solos/duets/small groups. There will be no big groups, except for the opening number.
Show summary:
Some trick-or-treaters are heading out for a night of fun and candy. On their way, they encounter a haunted house with Ghosts, Witches, Mad Scientists, and Monsters inside. Further down the path they enter into a graveyard full of skeletons, and more.
Before asking any questions about the process or how things are going to be done, please refer back to this post first.

Auditions
The Auditioned characters will have to perform a 30 second program that you will come up with on your own. This is open to all levels.
We are trying to make it fair to all skaters and give skaters a chance to try something new.
Auditions will take place on Jan 6th from 8-9am.
How it will work:
If you signed up for an auditioned part (per the google form), you will be sent a link to a google drive folder that will have three 30 second songs on it.
You will create a program all on your own. If you are taking private lessons, your coach may not choreograph it.
There will be a panel of judges; mix of coaches, parents, and board members.
What you will be judged on:
Ice Usage – Utilize the whole ice or stay in one place
Physical Expression – Gestures, Postures, and Movements
Choreography & Stage Presence – Confident, believable, passionate, bold, creative, risk taking, engaging, rehearsed
Delivery/Quality – No/few mistakes. Skill impressive for age
Jumps and Spins – not required for specific characters.
The following characters do have level requirements.

Practices
We will be utilizing LTS and Elite times for the practices. This will help us to run the show all together, and will have a schedule on what parts we will be rehearsing and when. So this will take place on Mondays from 6-8pm. Remember we will not need everyone there the whole time all of the time. But closer to the show we will use it all and require everyone to be there.
Show practices will be from March 25 to April 29th, dress rehearsal will be April 27th or 29th
Group practice dates are Mondays from 6-8 pm on the following dates:
3/25, 04/01, 04/08, 04/15, 04/22, 04/29
We will be learning the opener the first practice and will run it every rehearsal.
Practices will be run differently than previously done. A Schedule of what ‘scene’ we will be working on and when will be posted up in the group in ‘Fit by Wix’ weekly. Please make sure to review this group regularly for updates to the schedule and make sure to turn on your notification.
Dress rehearsal will be held on either 04/25 from 7-10 am, or 04/29 - 6-8pm
Picture Day
On 03/23 @ 9-10 am a photographer will be at the rink to take photos of the skaters for the programs
All skaters must come in full hair and make-up, bring their costumes and skating tights.
We will be taking pictures of all soloists and groups for the program.
Program
The programs will be available for purchase at the show. The cost of 1 program was included in Sign up for the Show, but you are more than welcome to purchase more if you wish.
People and/or businesses are able to purchase ads for the program, a google form will be available via the Fit by Wix app group, and will be posted closer to the show.
Photos will also be available for purchase through the photographer via her website. The website will be shared with everyone after the photos are available for order.
Volunteering for Jobs
Each skater participating in the Show must have at least one person, a parent/guardian/ friend/ family member, to sign up as a volunteer for the Show. In order to make the shows run smoothly we need to have a lot of volunteers this year due to the different nature of the production. A google form will be sent out via the Show Group, once everyone has signed up.
The final Job Listing will be posted in the Spring Show Group on the Fit App.
If a skater is over 18 years old, they can find someone to complete a job on their behalf or sign up for decorations and help set up before 1st Showing on each day.
